A company that made motor spare parts approached us to launch a new ceiling fan. Their key differentiator was a remote and huge energy saving. However, the product prototype looked generic and ‘me too’.
We proposed to design a stylish and classy fan like no other fan in the market. We started by designing the product and creating a brand name and came up with a strategy, exciting product colours, recycled packaging and a plan on how we could differentiate the brand from competition in this age-old crowded category. The brand name we came up with was Superfan, keeping in mind the product’s super design. Superfan went on to win numerous international and national awards for design. In 2019, electronics giant Murata of Japan bought a stake in the company.
